January 1, 2008 -
Well, the holidays have come and
gone - now it is time to really start focusing on the upcoming
season. Everyone had a nice break and should now be eager to return
to practice. With just over 100 days until the season opener
scheduled for April 19th, the ladies of the Spitfire are
getting ready to kick some butt in 2008!! Today marks the beginning
of our three practices-a-week and two weight training
sessions-a-week routine.
Hopefully everybody got what they
wanted for the holidays – especially any needed football equipment.
The team will start wearing helmets in just a couple of weeks (start
working on those neck muscles, smile). This is always an exciting
time – especially for the rookies – as everything comes together and
they get the true feel of being football players.
Once we get into February, the
shoulder pads will come out and by the end of February, these ladies
will be in full gear for every practice. With each piece of
equipment added, the excitement continues to build.
These next few months are going to
fly by. Before we know it, it will be opening day (hopefully
there’ll be no April snow storm this year). Gear up ladies and
let’s get that 2008 championship!
Clog a gap!
