PLAYER SPOTLIGHT:

Beth Yee

By Erin Throneberry

January 1, 2008 - January 13th is a very important day for Beth and her husband, Chris, as she is due with her first child.   So late in her pregnancy, she has had trouble getting up and down the stairs, as all the moms can attest, and can only imagine she "might be a little slow off the line in 3 months!"

Beth played soccer and volleyball in high school and then just pick-up sports through college and "the afterlife." One of those sports was flag football.   A mutual friend of hers and Coach Val crossed her path at a game and learned that she planned to try out for the then-Toledo Spitfire.   Beth made the team and is now preparing for her 3rd season.

During the day, Beth is a Quality Engineer.   She takes pride in her job, as well as her football “memories,” which includes her many bumps and bruises.   She is physically and mentally tough.   She doesn’t back down from life’s many challenges nor does she back down from opponents.   She stands her ground and pushes through.   Her favorite football moment is her first quarterback sack.   She is very proud of that moment.   What she is missing most right now is the friendship and camaraderie of the football team.   She has the utmost respect for her teammates.

In her spare time Beth enjoys dancing (but she doesn’t want to be the “old lady at the club”), reading, cooking and throwing dinner parties.   She has been missed for her sense of humor and her wonderful cooking that she often shares with the team.

Beth we wish you the best and can’t wait to see you, no matter how slow, back on the field with your teammates.
