Stephane Foster is originally from
Ontario, Canada. She has played baseball, volleyball, basketball
and has run cross country and track all her life. She and her
sister Koren travelled together playing sports across Canada and the
U.S.
Stephane is the wife of Coach Jimmie and mother
of Brianna. Jimmie became a coach to follow and support his wife.
Brianna attends practices with mom and dad. Coach Val believes in
Stephane’s strength and balance, “She is going to do very well on
the defensive line this season.”
In terms of football, Stephane says she became
interested when she came to the U.S. and heard that women could –
and did – play football. Playing many different sports and watching
her brother play football was enough to keep her interested.
Her biggest challenge is the physical
conditioning of her body. The only way to overcome this challenge
is to get out there and work out. Her favorite thing about playing
is the look of frustration on the opposition’s faces when they
realize they can’t get past her.
“There is nothing like putting it
all on the line and giving it your all, for the team and yourself;
leaving it all out there on the field, court, or wherever.”
