Spitfire End On High Note

June 17, 2006 - ERIE, PA - The Toledo Spitfire took on the Erie Illusion in the last game of the season. The Spitfire lost to the Illusion in their first match-up by a score of 8-0. The outcome of this game was in favor of the Spitfire with a score of 8-7.

The Spitfire defensive players were the stars of this game. They forced several Illusion fumbles and had three interceptions. One of the interceptions was returned by Jessie Torda-Holmes for the lone Spitfire score. Heather Inderrieden had the other two picks. Joy Youster and Octavia Griswold each had a sack for the Spitfire.

Offensively quarterback Olivia Griswold carried the ball for 78 yards. She also completed one pass to Jamie Combs for 15 yards. Special teams had another good game allowing the Illusion only 19 return yards and had 30 return yards for the Spitfire.
