Spitfire Defeats Momentum

Ann Arbor, MI, May 19, 2007 - The Tree Town Spitfire (2-3) defeated the Milwaukee Momentum (1-4) 30-10 in a National Women’s Football Association match-up at Pioneer High School’s Hollway Field.

 

Leilani Russell picked up where she left off last week with four touchdowns – two on offense, one on special teams, and one on defense – to celebrate her 22^nd birthday in style.

 

Octavia Griswold and Cathy Yungmann led the offense this evening with Jessie Cole and Savannah Hyssong also getting meaningful carries for the improving Spitfire. Sarah Sharpe led the defensive effort as the Spitfire allowed only one Momentum touchdown.

 

The Spitfire will play their 2007 season home finale against the West Michigan (Kalamazoo) Mayhem (4-1) May 26. General admission tickets are available online and at the gate: $10 for adults; $7 for students and seniors; no admission charge for children aged 5 years and under.
