April 22, 2006 - WAUWATOSA, WI - The Spitfire (0-2) went to Milwaukee Saturday without six starters from the season opener. Many of our ladies played positions in which they are not yet comfortable, but they did give it their best effort in an unexpectedly lopsided 42-8 loss.

Fourth year veteran Jessie Torda continued to shine making 10 tackles, breaking up one pass,  returning a kick 12 yards and scoring our first touchdown with a dazzling run on a 56 yard screen play.  Linebacker Denise Thompson filled in admirably for the absent Amanda Thames by getting in on 16 tackles and recovering a fumble. Sarah Dowd had 12 tackles and Heather Inderrieden had 8 tackles to go along with her first interception of the season.

This Saturday evening the Spitfire will host Ickey Woods and his Cincinnati Sizzle who will be looking to bounce back from a season opening loss to the West Michigan Mayhem..  The game will be played at Rossford High School with a 7:05 PM kickoff.
